Mast bend

My 19 II had been trailored and stored with the mast bow side up resting on the bow and stern rails. With no support in the center it sagged downward. Now with the mast raised it wants to keep this curve and with the shrouds aft of the mast base there seems to be no way of pulling the mid- mast forward. The problem here is that it creates more bag in the mainsail. Two more lower shrouds foreward of the mast would solve the problem but make rigging more dificult. I'm wonderring why I haven't seen any mention of this.

So let her sag. If it really is a bother and the mast won't straighten up by using the standing rigging adjusted correctly then [I'm not kidding] you and friend go find a low fork in a stout tree and insert to the unintended bend and push or pull the bend out. No big deal. I saw it done when a guy backed his mast into a building. Works fine. skip
