Firstly let me introduce myself as a proud new owner of a Com Pac 19.  We are Brits currently living in Washington DC and aim to sail initially on the Chesepeake and Potomac. She is still unnamed but as I see from the many posts you all know this is no easy task.

As a novice owner, I am amazed at the friendliness and community spirit which is evident on the website and I can't wait to being part of that family.  This spirit is one of the reasons why we bought a Com Pac - the other is that they appear to be outstanding boats!  That said we still haven't sailed her yet - that honour is due to occur this weekend at Solomon's Island, MD and I am sure we won't be disappointed.

She is a 1983, 19 and I believe is Hull Number 108 and is in pretty good condition and we are lucky she appears to have had several excellent previous owners.

Over the next few weeks I am sure I will be badgering you all with numerous questions on hull and trailer maintenance and sources of extra equipment such as spinnakers and a bow sprit.

Thank you for encouraging me to buy a Com Pac by having such an outstanding Forum and I look forward to hopefully meeting some of you on the water in the future,

Godspeed,

Piers

Welcome, Piers!
My friend Kevin has a 19 and loves it. I myself have a 1985 23 and couldn't be happier. Hope you had a great sail and many more to come. The 19 is a most pleasing, forgiving boat to sail. Bob from NJ
