Center board inspection

I'm considering a Horizon that is about 10 yrs old. Has been in moored in salt water last one year. Before that has been on and off trailer in saltwater.

It's on its trailer so may not be possible to get it lifted for centerboard inspection. Is it absolutely necessary to check for corrosion in that area and even if there is easy to find parts to fix it?
