I think I need to replace the packing gland on my horizon cat boat with the 1GM Yanmar. I've tightened the packing a couple of times. It leaks more than it should and is pretty noisy. It looks like I just need to repack it.
: I've never done this task and don't relish squeezing into the very tight quarters, but so be it. Question: what diameter of packing do I use? I'll be doing this on the hard. Are there any tips or suggestions?

While on the hard for a bottom job, I had the stuffing box repacked on my 30' Seidelmann. It cost $99.  Might be worth calling around to see what it would cost.
