Would like to buy a CP 16 with bowsprit and preferably forward hatch.  Looking for boat in the Southeast or reasonable distance from there.  864-884-4957

That's a good call, the Mark II is a better sailing boat.

I've got a cp16 II 1987 bowsprit no front hatch. Trailer small evinrude 2 HP 2 stroke. I'll sell so I can buy a cp23. I'm in Seneca SC

Don't underestimate a Mk2. Bow sprit thus 7/8 fractional rig in lieu of the 3/4 Mk1's. Also has adjustable trac and car for sheeting jibs, which is handy for different sized headsails. The forward ventilator clearly has less surface area for ventilation than a hatch on the Mk3 but can be left in place in the rain, turned around for ventilation underway when spray is an issue, and finally the Mk2's retain the rear lazarette which was done away with in the Mk3's. Just some things to think about.
