Do all C16 have an inspection port in the cabin towards the bow? And what is it used for? Looks like a small bilge.

Is it just forward of the compression post?  If so, my mark I does.  Don't know if it has a purpose apart from allowing you to get to a space that might otherwise collect and trap moisture and allow you to chek the condtion of the base of the compression post.

Ahoy, fellas!

Yes, there is a port there.  It is necessary to access the bolts that fasten the compression post to the bulkhead.  It is boxed in, and there is closed cell foam around it and under the plywood deck.  In mine, it was water logged.  Even closed cell foam will absorb water after a long time exposed.  That port really is only there to access those bolts.

Cheers!
