I don't know where to begin other than to say our world has changed, possibly forever. We remain grateful for the blessings we have and the fact that we are not going hungry, without housing, are relatively secure financially, and have most all of our immediate family close by. Given our age we are clearly in an at risk category for this illness but we refuse to let the fear of something infect us first. Our hearts break for those who are in danger of not only losing their health but their livelihood. We all need to be mindful of placing as much positive energy into this world full of angst that we can. Like a lighthouse, we must shine out to provide an aide to navigation for all. If there is a silver lining to all of this, it is we are witnessing much of the division both within our country and the world dissolve in the face of a threat that does not recognize borders, social economic status, political affiliation, or religious beliefs. Truly it has never been more true, united we stand, divided we fall. I choose we stand.

Peace, Mas

Good luck to everyone,  I remain grateful for all the securities I am blessed with to hopefully make it through this pandemic with little lost, and to help others less fortunate.  This is yet another lesson that Nature is the BOSS!  One of the reasons I love sailing, it re-enforces that lesson every time you go out.

Thank you for those words of wisdom, hope and reminding us that we can be beacons.

My son repeated to me that social distancing should be called physical distancing. This is a time for greater connection.

Prayers and positive thoughts for the everyday health care workers who risk their health and lives and even the health of their families.

Well said.
I, for one, am grateful for the extra time with my kids.  As a Marine Service Provider, with a 15-yo mini-me now in the shop, I feel that he's learning more than in school!  And he's good at it.  And my eldest, 17, who has worked  for a bike shop since 14; the bike shop has had it's best week EVER.  Everyone is pulling out the toys, trying to do what they should have long ago!  So for our sector, business as usual for now; if not busier.
No better place to quarantine than on the water!

Today, I was face timing with a friend in central New York; when he asked me what kind of sailboat I enjoyed most of my "collection ". I replied my CP-19.  He asked if it was contagious,  and I replied "absolutely!"

Well said!

I work in corrections, so far so good, but plenty of temp taking and rules now to go around........ My girlfriend however didnt fair so well, she was listed as a non-essential and thusly laid off as they shut the doors, and filing for unemployment has been a nightmare, as she cannot get through to anything on the other side..... 11 days in wondering how to feed her kids, pay the payments and etc. it is really quite the predicament.

I keep telling her that there are many like her, and we work to keep the kids fed, and spirits up.....

Hoping it all goes away soon, so we can get back to business.

it's weird with everyone home during the day.  i have to look to see if the kids behind us are out before shooting.  families are taking walks.  the lake is still empty because of the weather, but every now and then i'll see someone fishing.  today i prepped my bicycle for the year.  the room i've been working on is ready for drywall, but i'm not having someone come to work on it until this is past us.

closed on my mothers condo, and we were supposed to close on her townhouse this month too, but the buyers are now out of work and can't secure a loan.

i told joanie we may be in this house for another year because of the virus.
