Trailer woes

Hi fellow Eclipse owners , I just want to talk about Magic Tilt Trailer's .
I have  a 2011 Trailer and discovered that the brakes had rusted through with the hydraulic line broken as well.
On further inspection I found that inside the drum the wheel cylinders were completely seized solid with rust even though they had fresh water hoses fitted .
The brake lining were ok and could be freed up.
However I have found that the drums are only 8-1/2" and were made by Titan which sold its business a few years back.
The local brake specialists here sand blasted the cylinders but said they weren't any good ,not enough metal left.
This left me in a quandary because the cylinders could not be located in Australia.
All Australian drums are either 9 or 10" ,this meant to replace the drums meant also replacing wheels and tyres as well as the axle because the bearings won't fit the Australian axle . New bearings as well.
I contacted Scott at the Trailer Depot in Sarasota , they are Magic tilt trailer suppliers but they don't  stock those drums anymore either nor the cylinders.
However I must say Scott went out of his way suggesting alternatives and shipping information ,so I would definitely  recommend  him.
I actually found the right cylinders at ETrailer.com but they would not ship to Australia .
I contacted Alsantini a good friend on the Eclipse site who offered to send them to Aus if I sent them to him in Florida

He's a good man and I thought my problems were over but no Etrailer wanted a US billing address as well even though I was paying with PayPal .
Damn back to the drawing board and found the complete hub unit at  Trailer  and Truck spares ,and are now being shipped direct to me.
Another supplier was eastern marine but they wanted US $276 just to ship them to Aus .
The parts and freight ended up costing $464 Aus .
These same 10" parts in Aus would cost less than $100 Aus.
Very frustrating but with good friends like Alsantini the problem is solved.
If you have 8-1/2" drums on your trailer it would pay to get some spares because I believe they are not made anymore.
The hubs I ordered have a better rust protection and are guaranteed for 2 years.
Happy sailing

Not an Eclipse owner-16II-but let me give 2 thumbs up re Al being a "good guy"! Appreciate his taking some time a couple of years ago to give some pointers re the Punta Gorda area to a newbie. Still remember the food at Casey Key.
Glad you got your trailer parts and the "fix". Thanks for the info, as well.
