After fifteen years of constant exposure to the elements my cockpit depth/speed log instrument gave up the ghost; bezel cracked and even with the cover on water intruded. It was a Raymarine, the predecessor to the i40 bidata.  So I bought the i40 bidata as a replacement.  Went to the boat yesterday tooled up for and anticipating a long hard installation to make the new model adapt to the old.
Fifteen minutes...only tool required was a screw driver to remove the custom teak back cover I made.  While the front panel looks different, everything behind it is the same.  Nine color coded blade terminals for the input wires, same as existing, and a plug for the sea talk cord.

Best price was from iMarine.  Expensive, but as a replacement, considering the ease of installation, no new holes in the boat, no covering of existing holes, no new wiring, probably worth it.
