- Compac 23- trailerable cruising sailboat with tandem trailer and 8hp Mercury longshaft outboard.
Hand built, heavy displacement/ballasted hull, sloop rigged shoal draft cruising boat that very stable, robust built 8 stay masthead rigged,
nimble, 6+ knots hull speed but tacks very easily under light weather, and has capability for heavy weather sailing to 25-30 mph or so winds, has sleeping berths for 4, and a self-bailing 7ft. plus cockpit

A work in progress, I have tended to improve or purchase sailing enhancements every season
I've owned her but am moving sometime soon so am making a change in my sailing lifestyle;

Many upgrades, new equipment, parts, is a fresh water only boat, and well maintained, sailed only in Michigan
boating seasons from 2009-2017. Stored and shrink wrapped off seasons.
too much to post but have a file of all purchases and have service records, so will update this post soon with much detail and inventory.
Major improvements/repairs/enhancements ;
- Entire hull bottom job- Professionally updated- stripped all gelcoat, re-filled lay-up, sprayed polyester/and/or
epoxy resin, spray applied 5 coats minimum of gelcoat, then sanded/prepped for 4 coats barrier coat, then applied 2
coats Blue water coppershield csx ablative barrier paint.
- All deck hardware( stantions, stern/bowrails, mooring cleats, rigging )
re-bedded with SS backing plates & 3M5200
- New Hutchins factory replacement rubrail installed
- Lifeline replacement and upgrade; Johnson Marine pelican gate, removed & replaced midship lifeline drop termination to thru stantion lines upward to bowrail;
- New lifelines replaced with Colligo Marine synthetic dux lines, with lineline cushions and sunbrella covers.
- New standing rigging ; forestay, back stay, port/starboard uppers.
- Custom made SS 12 gallon inboard gas tank
- Mainsail Upgrade- 2014; reconditioned with LaMauney process( cleaned, then replaced resins to fibers together )
Also added 2nd reef points/reef ties, sewed new boomerang at clew, and new insignia
- Added to sail inventory new heavy dacron storm jib cut from larger boat, with self-tending pennant or jibsheet option
- Jib and Genoa reconditioning - 2017; recondition both with LaMauney process, re-setbolt rope, repaired any holes,
entire overlay on genoa leech, cleaned both sail bags
- All new upgrade to running rigging hardware for single-handed sailing/ All lines run aft to cockpit;
all Garhauer or Com-pac/Hutchins factory Marine ; New 12 stamped hole mast deck plate, 2 cheek blocks, 2 jib fairleads, double deck organizers, 2 double blocks w/adjustable shackles, 4 single blocks w/adj. shackle, fiddle block with camcleat/snap shackle, fiddleblock w/becket w/adj.shackle & 2 snatchblocks( for boomvang & preventer ), new extra large boombail, 2 rope clutches, 2 genoa track cars, fiddleblock w/adj.shackle w/swivel jam cleat w/deck mount & fairlead( for mainsheet control )
- Single line reefing hardware, 4-1 outhual, 4-1 downhual, quick release mainsail track stop & internal mastgate kit
- All new running rigging; New England Ropes staysetX, and other low stretch brands
New SS motor mount
- Marine head w/privacy curtain, toilet is portable thetford cassette with also pump-out port
- New extra wide swim ladder
- Newer replaced V-berth and cabin berth cushions, and zippered fabric covers
- New mainsail bag, genoa deck bag, and tiller cover - sunbrella fabric.
- new tiller from Rudder Craft
