I bought it a few days ago .  It's been a few years since we've had a Compac 16 ,  I was so focused on making sure the trailer was roadworthy  ( had to change tires and get a spare tire & rim ) , trip to DMV , and packing things up ,  that I never realized until we got it home it's an XL model with a centerboard  .

Does your 16 have mid-boom sheeting and a traveler? I think some of the late XLs have these features.

we have a 16CB... so if you have some questions...jest ask
(now watch out someone might want a few $$ or a few bottles of rum here...LOL)
our 16CB was mid-ship main, but we moved it to a SS traveler well aft
