Looks like you're making progress! I will start my commissioning this weekend. First step is pollen removal...geez.
Cheers!

Looks like you're making progress!....

Yep! Slowly but surely. I'm a single dad during the week, as the wife travels on business. Boat restoration while trying to entertain our 7-year-old..... interesting, to say the least.

I did get the forward hatch removed last night.

I read before (elsewhere?) that the Com-Pac 16 had a wood-cored deck until 1980 or 1981. (I may be thinking of the CP-19 though....) Mine's a '79, so I fully expected to find a wood core when examining the cutout for the hatch I removed. However, it sure looks like two layers of gelocoat-covered FRP, with a core of microballoon slurry, like the supposed composition of later models. Just posting it here for the chance it may help some future reader.

This is a cutout of the forward deck, looking aft. Coachroof and cabin are in the background.

Where to buy rope for running rigging:

Jamestown Distributers is my favorite place to buy the New England Ropes nylon three strand that I use for anchor rode and Dacron double braid for running rigging.

Their standard prices were lower than West Marine's big discount sale last year and they often offer free shipping.

I don't own stock or work there but maybe I should considering how much stuff I buy from them.

Regarding the trailer tilt feature:

I deleted mine.  It isn't needed and it looks like it could be a dangerous "finger shear" that could hurt someone.  Also, it could possibly open up while trailering unless securely fastened.  I see it as a weak point in an otherwise good trailer.
