Advise needed - Port Visors - Anyone have them installed? Pictures?

Our Horizon Cat has two port lights that have broken hinges from the previous owner.  Given this is over $500 for parts from Compac, I was toying with the idea of installing Port Visors all around which would take care of the hinge side leak that I will probably have in a bad rainstorm.  4 Port Visors would be $120 or less than half of one replacement from Compac.  The bonus they can remain open in a rain (minus wind) for ventilation without leaks interior.

Anyone use them?  Pros, Cons?  Pictures installed on your Compac?  They are installed with 3m tape (probably vhb).    Here is the link for what I am looking into....
