Creaking noise in stern

I have a creaking noise in the stern. It shows up in off shore seas particularity quartering seas.
I have had it inspected and all looked good inside.
I put on the safety brackets form Com_pac to back up the tabbing on the rudder cable quides.
It is something I would like to fix or know for sure it is nothing.
Has any one had this issue, can you shed some light on the noise?

I have the same issue. I have not been able locate anything that does not look OK underneath. It is definitely steering related but everything looks OK .

I have experienced this too, as well as a little shimmy or vibration of the wheel in a following sea or just sailing downwind. It improved somewhat when I tightened the steering cables. My best guess is it's because the rudder post is not tightly secured inside the tube on the 27 (no stuffing box) and the little bit of play is enough to cause these gremlins. I don't worry about it.

The only creaking noise on my 27 comes from my knees!  :- )

I think it is rigging. When you put your hand on the transom you can feel the vibration easly.
The fasteners on the back stay show some corrosion. I will replace those and see if it makes a difference..
Everything looks good with the steering but I noticed the cockpit drain caulk bead is about 1/4 inch from the transom.
This might be the culprit also,
It is relatively constant in quartering seas with all the sail up and not very pleasant to hear that much differential movement.
Running in quartering seas with job only it does not do it.
The fasteners on the back stay show some corrosion.
