OK, just one more post for the good of ComPacness.

A broker for St Barts of Oriental NC found a C-33 located at Ensign Marina off the lower Neuse.  I looked at it and made an offer for $10,000.  At that time the owners were not interested in selling.  So we purchased a PS-34.

Recently the broker called back and said that the owners are now interested in selling, no price mentioned.

If someone wants a project boat it is worth looking into.  Unfortunately the broker is unwilling to give up the owner(s) information.....but then again that is how he makes his money.

regards charlie

PS if you purchase it you need one of these for a dink.......I know where there is one very reasonably priced.

Hey Charlie,
What types of projects? I'm loving the CP25 but can see the in the future the need for much more space.

Hey Reighnman:
I spent less than 10 minutes on the boat and another 5 or so looking at it.  It is in the water so it does float....the broker thought that my offer might be to high.  I would estimate that there is a good 2-3 months of my pace of work to get it safe to sail/motor...I was guessing about 30-40 boat units to do a nice job of it.

A short list of projects:  Haul, strip and point bottom, buff topsides,  power wash deck, re-bed what leaks, rebuild drive train between prop and transmission, get engine running with fresh fluids, clean fuel tank, remove removable stuff inside and power wash, replace standing and running rigging.  You should be able to sail it if the tabs and mounts are good.  Then work on the interior as you can.

There was a C-33 in Bayfield that might be a better deal for around $50,000.  Plus the fun of bringing it down to NC from Lake Superior.

good luck
regards charlie

PS Although I have not used it as much as I have wanted to so far, I am really liking the PS 34.
