Time for a new cooler: what size fits the CP 23 floor?

Or, maybe the lazarette.

I will buy something like an igloo marine or Coleman, not one of those monster brands.

Anyway, I keep forgetting to measure the width of the floor space while I am at the boat, so if someone can provide that, too, I can start my hunt for the cheapest, longest lasting, best fittingest, etc.

Thanks!

Check out Practical Sailor's recent cooler review. Spoiler alert: the expensive ones did not win.

Well, that site is a bear to navigate. Maybe you could just tell me?

The Engel 65 quart was top rated, edging out the Yeti - but like the Yeti you need a second mortgage to buy one. But the surprise best buy winner was the Coleman 70 quart, which performed nearly as well and only costs 1/3 as much.

Thanks! Confirms my bias, haha.

Now, if I can remember to measure:

A. Lazarrette opening
2. Cabin floor width.

I can sneak in some measurements later if its not raining, what would you like exactly measured?

I tried out several coolers for my CP23 this summer, and found the best one for combination of price, performance, and (most importantly) near-perfect fit in the compartment behind the companionway steps was the Coleman 70-quart "Xtreme".  $52.

BruceW

Thanks, guys

I will check these out.

Like that Coleman; presently, I have a bunch of other stuff back in that compartment, but, hey, maybe I will change my mind to get that size cooler back there.

If I go soft sided, will check out the AO. In fact, maybe will do so for the lazerette.
