The bottom has been cleaned and painted annually with ablative bottom paint. Exterior woodwork is regularly treated with teak oil and interior wood has been maintained with Epifanes varnish on the cabin sole and teak oil on bulkheads and coach roof surround.

A high performance Unifoil kick-up rudder from Rudder Craft was added in 2016. The Tiller Clutch allows hands-free sailing upwind. The rudder pivots into a vertical upright position for storage with gas piston-assisted lift. While sailing, the rudder can retract softly if it hits bottom and the piston will return the rudder to the full down position. This new foil-shaped rudder is a big improvement over the original aluminum plate rudders that were originally installed by Com-pac: steering is much smoother and provides greater control in high wind.

A fantastic, custom feature of this boat is the system for raising/lowering the mast in less than an hour. While trailering, the mast is held during on a mast crutch that is built on the transom of the boat. To prepare for launch the mast attaches to a hinge on the mast step. Next, a stainless steel A-frame attached to the foredeck of the boat allows connection of the trailer winch to the mast forestay. Finally, the trailer winch is used to raise the mast.
