Pencil Zinc Replacement

Looking for any tips on replacing the pencil zinc in the heat exchanger of my CP27 (Universal 12).  I know the location and the proper replacement part.  It looks like one wrench on the hex at the base where the zinc threads in to hold things steady, another on the hex of the zinc itself I turn to back it out.  I read some past posts but not sure what to expect.  I see some pre-soak the area in penetrating lubricant - are they difficult to come out?  I would expect just the seawater in the exchanger to empty, not coolant.  And no sealant or tape on the threads of the new one going in, correct?  Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I have a westerbeke 12 hp. The zincs come out pretty easily and most likely the engine hex won't move (might be welded I don't know). If the zinc is dissolved completely I take off the end and clean out what I can see. Then, correct, no tape on the threads for the new install. Pretty straight forward but maybe someone with your engine will chime in.
