this past sunday was my first of the season. 10 to 15 mph winds on Carlyle Lake in southern Illinois. water temp 51, temp 62 (maybe). my friends Rich and Matt were with me and we averaged 4.5 to 5 knots. the new jib worked fine as did everything else (a surprise) . it was a great day albeit a bit cold. i hope everyone has a good a first sail as we did.

Sounds like a good short sail.  Mine is still waiting for paint and a splash!

My first sail of the year was in Jan.  Water was 52^F air was 55.  Winds WNW at 7-8 mph gusts to 15.

The admiral, Buddy the SeaDog and I sailed 7nm on SML.  Got several phone calls from neighbors asking if we were nuts.

Really had a good time.  We had hot chocolate rum "martinis" in a thermos. Not another boat on the water. Marvelous!

Then, we went on vacation, went to the CBMWG, and started our master bathroom renovation.  Only one day sailing since.

Going this weekend. (I hope).

Well guys haven't been sailing since the week of Thanksgiving. Our thoughts tend to go to the frozen variety of water for the winter, though this year was difficult! Doubt it will be before mid-April this year till we splash. (unless someone wants to volunteer to wash and wax Interlude's hull so we can splash) So glad other's are out!

OBTW Tim, you don't need phone calls from neighbors to suggest your nuts. We love your regardless :)

On the water two weeks ago for our first outing in Denver area. 74 degrees! Winds 8 to 12. Perfect lazy afternoon. All worked well BUT I forgot to bring the trolling motor. Always something. No problem though. With the admiral on the tiller (she skippers most of the time these days...gonna to have to "promote" her to captain), I simply paddled us out from the dock until we could set sails. Only sailboat on the water. Blue sky, clear views of snow-capped Rockies. We're off to a great season already!
