Congratulations.  I splashed today myself.  I guess that you are ready for sailing and I am waiting for my Saga to continue....(bad pun).

Fabulous! Are you planning to be at the Bash? Hope so.

Bob, The motor didn't stay submerged on a downwind run in a 2-3ft following bay chop so that makes me hesitate thinking about running Barnegat Inlet. Give me a couple months to get comfortable and I'll have a better idea if she'll be there. After the causeway bridge, is it open sailing in the back bay to Island Beach State Park?

yes, and I've done that route many times. For the first 9 years, I moored my 23 just north of the bridge so I know the route well up to Island Beach. A WNW wind is nice but I've sailed it in all kinds of winds. Even had to motor one time. Why would you run the inlet? You're in Mystic, right? You can bay sail all the way. Although not a charted channel, there is deep water along the mainland from Tuckerton all the way up to Thorofare Island. Then you pick up a local channel between Thorofare Island which connects to the ICW.

If not now..When?
