Title: How many 27's on NC coast?
Post by: redfishnc on January 25, 2017, 10:49:44 PM
Just wondering how many 27's are located along the NC coast?  I'm in Wilmington but will relocate boat to Oriental in spring.

Mine is at Washington NC, on the Pamlico. Restoration still underway in the boatyard - but hope to be sailing by summer! I'll be visiting Oriental and New Bern for sure.

There are at least two others at Washington, at the Pamlico Plantation marina across Broad Creek from me. I don't know the owners, and don't think they are active here on the forum.

When I purchased ours it was in New Bern NC. Sometimes in summer I wish it was still up here, when there's not a breath of wind here on the Gulf.

Yup! Windrunner out of New Bern Grand Marina...Know of Ches Sugg out of BlackBeards off of Upper Broad Creek and at least two others docked in Duck Creek all off of the Neuse.  There are at least two more for sale around Oriental.  I have seen two C-27's on the Neuse while sailing in the past three years.

regards charlie

ps If anyone is hanging out in Washington (NC) it is worth checking out Wes's 27 and 19 both are really well maintained beautiful boats....

Two in Wilmington I know of.  One listed for sale on Craigslist and Sea Witch is at Wrightsville Beach.  Would be great this summer to get a few boats on a group tour of the inner banks.  Maybe a run to Cape Lookout.  Of course all Compac and others would be invited.

I have a CP35 at Southport and I saw what I believe was a CP27 sailing down there too.  If you get together a sail to the sounds behind the outer banks, I'd be interested and I can check the Southport marinas for that boat I saw and them know as well.  We hope to head up to Manteo around May 8.
