i have been asked recently "what happened to the CLR shirts?" we havent had them for a few years and i was wondering who would be interested. i was thinking that we could make them simple using the "CLR" logo that salty 19 came up with. give me some feedback if you would.
Heck yeah, I'll take one 2xl
if i have them done ill use the simple logo next to my post
Perfect! Put me down for a large. Unless my bulging biceps get any larger!
always tell a rower
Yes,
I would get another CLR T-Shirt, or two... I still like the outlines of the boats on the back and any color that doesn't show PBR stains.
Rich
steve,
we'll take 2. 1-small and 1-large.
any color but black.
c.c.
i better check with mike. i dont want to spend time talking to lawyers if i can help it
Always up for a new T shirt. Might be nice to have the Com Pac emblem but then you would not want one. LOL While we were there I saw a great T shirt with a map of the lake. It was really sharp but would involve more work.
Just my 2 cents worth.
Kick, I don't think you need to worry about using the logo. Hutchins has given us permission several times for shirts and DVD images. I think You made the sailboat graphic that turned out nice on the brown shirts that Jason had made up, and the Compac or CLR logo on the front would look good.
Put me down for an XL please :)
Done nicely with the CP logo, and they might want to offer in their online store
just in the "kicking around" stage, but i figure i would just throw it out there before i talked to a "shirt guy"
i know com-pac sailors would want the logo on the shirt but i thought i would just have the CLR logo on the pocket and on the back. the CLR is not limited to com-pac boats, although they make up most of the fleet. i think a diverse fleet makes the event a little more interesting
BLAAAASPHEMY! AAAAARGH! Hang 'em from the Yaaaard aaaaarm!
just my 2 cents.
bring your boat in june and we will race ya
Ginger and I would want a couple. I am down a shirt size I think, or was, LOL
She is down several........ lucky girl!
Let me know, I would probably buy a couple just because I wear my other one alot, and it might be awhile before they are available again!

I agree with you Steve, the more boats and sailors the merrier. Maybe we should do a little advertising around the Midwest to get a few more boats at the CLR each year. Also I and a couple other boats were sailed single handed, could we welcome some sailors to come with out there boats? Just thinking out loud, not trying to make more work for you Steve.

Yes, please invite your twin brother DoppleCarl from Texas!
It would be great to sail alongside the
Mystical Wind and CLR
Hero once again.
if you're serious, i could post it on the SCA site.
you have to admit he was good for more than a few laughs. the "hobo of the bounding main"
Steve put me down for a couple of XL t-shirts. Is there going to be a theme to this years CLR?
Can hardly wait to get sailing.
Dan
Just talking about Compac clothing this past week. Husband loves having shirts, jackets and hats to show off the what toys he has. We would be interested in shirts.
we have some family crisis here this year but i will try and enlist a shirt guy then i guess i will take orders. glad to see so many are interested
i'll be taking over the responsibilities for the shirts.
i try to get in touch with the supplier this week and post prices/color options.
c.c.
thanks again buddy
Any update on the t-shirts, Carl?
I'm helping Steve with the race planning this year. I've mapped out a similar course to the 2015 race, just a teeny bit shorter.
Due to my other computer having issues at the moment I can't share the course map or regurgitate starting times, but I'll try to get that out for all to see soon. Anyway, if the buoys are placed in the correct spot, I will have the exact course distance set (to the foot). This will help with accurate start times and an attempt to create a realistic PHRF rating for our boats. Based on past race results the CP16's will be given a higher rating, thus an earlier start. The goal here is being as fair of a race as possible, which also implies a potential tight configuration near the finish line.
A big change to the race this time is the race will not be over until the last boat has crossed the finish line. This will help to tweak the following years start times by boat and give you the captain a good idea how your boat handles against others on all points of sail, and for longer distances.
As in past years, is cheating encouraged??
Bob,
Absolutely cheating is encouraged, it wouldn't be a CLR race without a little "fair" play!!!
Just to throw out some cheating ideas...
-leader pops the balloons that will help locate the race markers.
-General boat sabotage..you know, anchor dragging, rigging changes, extra ballast, banana on the rudder, etc.
-Kites, spinnakers, drifters, extended masts, grandma's bed sheets, whatever you can muster.
-Be named Rich or Matt, or look like them.
matt might just have a "little" surprize this year------more mystery to come
mike,
steve is preparing the art work for the shirts.
once steve has sent me his renditions, i'll bring the to the shirt shop.
c.c.
Thanks for getting the t-shirts going, gents.
Good to hear Matt is scheming up new ways of cheating. I thought his first place finish in a CP16 was too good to be true... :)
nobody suspected the inboard diesel.
carl, i did one drawing but its too detailed i suspect. i'll have the new one end of next week. ill call for the address.
