this year I'm thinking that CLR sailors would want to try a "race to the silo". the silo (which is an old concrete structure left standing when the river was dammed) sits in the middle of lake carlyle 5.4 miles from the dam spillway. this would be a nice "race-cruise" for our group. there is an excellent raft up spot (shallow with a sand bottom) just west of the silo. if we get good wind it could be a fun event. we will also have the clr cup race (around the mark--set closer together) that week. for those of you who have been to the clr i would welcome your input.
sounds good!
I'm hoping for no wind so I can row and beat you all!!! Hahahahahaha!!!!

seems to me you have a precision 15 that i would love to sail
You must be reading my mind, Steve. I don't want to curse myself by saying I'll be bringing my 23 out there, but I do indeed have a Precision 15 keel that would be much easier to tow out. All I need to do is have a reef point sewn into the main and I'm ready to go. My wife is bugging me to sell this boat. What should I tell her, oh Grand Poobah of the CLR?
tell her that you are bringing it out so perspective buyers can give it a look see
Ahhh...I knew I was asking the right question to the right man! Thanks!!!

Now, now....let's not go down that road. You know I would like to trailer my 23 out there but at this early date, I won't even venture to say it.

Kick, thanks for organizing the silo race-cruise and raft-up. As always we are looking forward to a good time!
compass heading 44 degrees from the spillway. the big concrete thing in the middle of the lake. we will also race around the cans maybe with the balloons attached
mike, bring the battery for the night sail
