Hey everyone,
So, we just found out we will be moving to Oklahoma very soon, like within the next month or so as my wife just got a new position in Tulsa Oklahoma in the company.
Sadly, with this news, neither of us can see how we will be able to make it to CLR. This change is extremely sudden, as we truly didnt expect her to get a position down there so quickly.
Now we begin the daunting task of looking for a new house as well as selling our existing. There is luckily some kind of relocation package but this is happening so newly that we dont have the details of that as of yet.
I guess we will be taking the boat with us, I am planning on installing a new axle, and brakes extremely soon, and dropped off my truck to the mechanic late today after we found out this was happening. Need to ensure my tow vehicle and boat are ready for the trip.
Luckily though, this means that in the future we will be vacationing out this way to see friends and family. And we do plan to keep the boat so CLR is a solid possibility.
Hope to keep you all informed, It is a HUGE change for us........... I can honestly say it makes me nervous!
Mac :D
P.S: We havent been able to call everyone or message everyone on the changes, getting the house ready has suddenly become first priority as well as planning. Please if your friends with us on FaceBook, dont mention it yet as we have co workers on our pages that we haven't told yet! I want to launch it to my team personally when I am back from vacation. THANKS!
Congrats on the change/promotion . One good thing is that wind in OK is constant.

Hi Mac,
While I'm not that familiar with Tulsa, we sail at Grand Lake, which is roughly an hour away. Grand Lake Sail Club is an old club we are in. Nice facilities and reasonably priced. 5 minutes from Grove with everything you'd need.
There are a couple of smaller lakes near Tulsa as well, but I have no local knowledge of them. I have a sailing acquaintance in Sand Springs who could provide more local knowledge on housing and sailing. He'd be a good source if you don't have one.
We're in the process of moving also, so my sympathy to you..........
Ron
Mac,
I lived in Sand Springs and worked in Tulsa for eight years and really liked many aspects of it. Plenty of lakes around there to sail on, the most convenient is Lake Keystone, just west of Sand Springs. Depending on where your wife is working in Tulsa, you might want to consider the west side, Sand Springs, New Manford, and others. Housing much more affordable and the commute into the city is much shorter and quicker. Before I decided where to live there everyone told me to move to South East Tulsa or Broken Arrow. So I went out there and did the commute in at rush hour. I immediately started looking for a house in Sand Springs.
If you have questions about the area, please feel free to PM. Even though my knowledge is dated (mid eighties) I still have quite a few friends in the area.
Wow...big changes coming your way! As always, wish you and Ginger the best! I'm sure it will be stressful but soon will settle into your new surroundings.
Just wish you guys were moving EAST, not WEST...
To quote the musical: "Oklahoma, where the wind comes sweeping 'cross the plains!" Should be great for sailing out there. Never been there but heard it's a nice place to live.
Good luck, and of course we'll keep it quiet on Facebook until the word is out.
jason, you and ginger will be missed thats for sure. good news is that you are keeping the 19 and we hope you can find time to sail her. make sure you keep in touch and if you happen to be here on clr week be sure to make an appearance. all your friends at the CLR wish you two the best in OK. good luck kids
Hope all goes smoothly for your move Mac. I think you will really like Tulsa! Lots to do do and nice terrain with lakes and hills. Great barbeque.Check out Billy Ray's in west Tulsa!
