I'm looking at buying a CP23 without a bowsprit.
Does anyone know how difficult it is to add one? Anyone here have any first hand knowledge adding one?
I'm wondering if it is something that I would be able to do myself.
It is easy to add the bow sprit there are six holes to drill in the side of the deck and I had to move the eye for the bobstay, mine is the old style cable.
The hardest part was reaching the bolts for the eye they are under the V berth.
Fortunately my sons arms are longer than mine.
I filled the holes with tiger hair (a mixture of resin and shredded matt) then added some epoxy and cavasil mixture to fill some pits not filled with the tiger hair.
The only tools needed are a hand drill, the bow sprit is pre - drilled and fitted for the boat.
You will need to get a new head stay or add short extension plates. I would use the solid bobstay instead of the cable.
Hope this helps. One of the best advantages is a place to store the anchor.

I was hoping that it would be as simple as attaching it to the existing bow eye. I always get a little nervous about making new holes in a boat.
