Gents: I'm looking to buy a current Chesapeake Cruising Guide but I thought I'd throw out the question to you experienced Chesapeake guys out there: Which one do you prefer? I'd rather not learn the hard (and sometimes costly) way by not buying the best one first. So....

I have a very old one that I just put on my boat. Funny part is that I haven't broken it out in a few years. The only time I had it out was to show my wife where we were heading.

I have been using Active Captain for most things. The app isn't as good as the computer program. It has all of the information you could want including reviews of anchorages.
If you make it down for the Tangier Island bit you are more than welcome to join me and sail over to a few other places.
Another great trip would be to spend a little time in the Choptank. You can get to Oxford, Cainbridge, the backside of St. Michaels, and Kent island.
