Title: racing at the clr
Post by: kickingbug1 on March 09, 2016, 10:06:11 AM
before i attempt to set up a schedule for the clr, i want to have everyones input on the number of races to have. last year we had two races---the practice race and the clr cup race. wind was absent for much of the practice race but was perfect for the cup race. i understand that everyone doesnot want to race and rest assured that it is just for fun (although the competitive spirit does come into play).  i figure we could easily have three races prior to the cup race on thursday (weather permitting). another idea could be a cruise from the dam to the first silo (north), around the silo with a raft up in alan's branch (hazlett state park) for lunch. a night sail would be nice too. anyway just food for thought.

I must be Mr. Magoo, had no idea we had a practice race last year! Probably explains our second place finish!

Last year all the Sun Cat sailors were waiting at the dock for the before race skippers meeting. The rest of the fleet had snuck out and they started the race before we could even get to the starting line. I plan to camp out over night at the starting line to make sure I'm there at the start this year. Then we will see  how brings home the gold. The sails have been altered for more speed and the bottom is smoother than my new born great grand sons bare bottom.

We sure will not be fooled again this year. Fool me once same on you, foul me twice same on me.

Roger:
If I arrive boatless at CLR, I'd be honored to crew for you aboard your Suncat. I had a great time last year and learned lots.
