Title: Hilton Head
Post by: DaleM on January 22, 2016, 12:42:46 PM
Planning a trip to Hilton Head and was wondering if there were any reports or suggestions about the area.  Will be staying at a local resort and noticed they rent Capri22's by the hour.  Any feedback would be helpful.

I have only rented a Hobie Wave at the southern tip of the island.  Only had it within an hour but saw dolphins in the first 10 minutes and Aphrodite came within 1/2 mile of me.  Probably my favorite powerboat for eye candy.

Sounds good.  Information from locals seem to suggest good sailing I the sound.
Looking forward to my visit.
Thanks for the feedback!

I motor sailed by Hilton Head around '93, on a trip from Charleston to Jacksonville and back in a Morgan Out Island 41.  I don't remember anything about it, except we skipped the scheduled night at Hilton Head due to delays getting an alternator repaired, or running aground at some point.  We stayed in the ICW for most of the trip, under motor power.  I'm sure your experience will be better than ours.
