Title: Compac 16 Whisker Pole
Post by: Citroen/Dave on October 21, 2015, 11:48:31 AM
My 150 now flies from an improvised whisker pole that requires no additional storage.  My West Marine's floating and expandable boat hook does the job. Other brands will do as well.  Additional parts needed: one nylon tie strap and one Velcro strap. The leeward jib sheet may be used to stabilize the jib if needed.   The length of the pole is adjusted as needed and will probably adjust to fit other boats.  It doesn't cost anything to hand hold one for a trial.  Amazing run of boat speed . . .

Thanks for that, good idea. I will be digging out my telescopic boathook at the weekend to see it will serve like yours.
