I had a nice sail today on the Neuse River (across the river from Oriental, NC) on a friend's boat. At his dock, I spotted this 23, which you can see is in need of much TLC. This is a private community dock, just past Matthew's Point Marina on Clubfoot Creek. Anyone know this boat? Sad to see a Com-Pac sitting unused.

the starboard jib winch looks to be at an odd angle.
Port???
iT is aT A CrAzY CaRL aNgLE......
the starboard jib winch is angled all the way over to the port side!
Actually the angle probably reduces the chafe on the combing.
Exactly, Billy. My 23 has long teak winch pads which give the winches the same angle as we see here. This could be my Koinonia's sister ship- same vintage!
Bob23
um, yes. portside.
damn, now i look like a landlubber!

nice shoes bob, but i only have two feet.
what would i do with the other pair?

Well, I think they're too big for Joannie but she could put on 2 pair of socks!!! Mix 'em up: Port and starboard. Or mix 'em up at Christmas time...that's how I use them!
Ok sailors - focus. On a post about a neglected 23, we are now talking about red and green Chucks!
Trust us. It all ties in. Trust us.
