The wife is concerned about learning to sail.
What book, or video would be suggested?
Amazon has so many, it's hard to decide.
She's extremely concerned about stepping the mast, I'm slightly concerned because we haven't tried it yet.
I understand the principle, and would not hesitate to build something to make it easier.
I did a search on the site, but didn't see anything that caught my eye.
I recommend "Things I wish I'd Known Before I started Sailing" by John Vigor. Its both funny and informative. Mostly, it emphasizes the point that sailing doesn't need to be anywhere near as intimidating or difficult as most people make it out to be.
Along the same lines, I have heard that Don Casey's "Dragged Aboard" is a good read. Again, funny and informative. My wife and I haven't read it, yet. But, have read the reviews, which have been good. Personally, I have enjoyed Don's other writings and his online information. A google search on his name will provide plenty of links. Good luck.
