Title: Whisker pole padeye height
Post by: Jim23 on July 20, 2015, 04:35:55 PM
I'm planning to mount the whisker pole padeye that came with my boat. I might do the adjustable track later but for now no $$ out of pocket.

I searched previous posts but was unable to find a height for mounting the padeye. I currently have a 155 Genoa on the furler.

Any suggestions or experiences from folks using a similar setup?

Thanks - Jim

Jim,

You want the pole to be roughly level with the clew of the sail. Next time you are sailing and are running try and sight the height of the clew relative to your mast and put the padeye there.

For later also consider a topping lift to support the weight of the pole. Lets you use the pole in lighter air.

Thanks Shawn...didn't think of the topping lift idea. My jib halyard is available for that.
