Title: Origional Retail Price?
Post by: Cats Paw on March 05, 2015, 05:18:44 PM
I am curious.  Would anyone have an Idea of the dollar amount  early Compac 16's sold for back in the day?  My compact 16 "RU-ACH" is a 1980.   Just wondering.

In 1980, 16 with a sail cover went for $3620.00 according to the NADA guide, and is still worth $2200

Don't forget to add on for the trailer and motor, gentlemen.  Replacing them could run $5k plus.    New sails could also make a real difference in what a boat is worth, too.  They ain't cheap, and the bigger the boat....Gulf Island Sails has some pricing on their site, for options for new boats.  For anything you want to replace, that is a good place to start for pricing of factory parts.  Compac can give you prices for just about anything specific to your boat that needs replacement.  Matt is the parts man and he took great care of me when I ordered a new steering assembly for my Eclipse.
