Title: New CP23 Owner
Post by: AislinGirlII on February 21, 2015, 06:55:38 AM
Hello All,
We recently purchased an 86 CP23 II to weekend sail out of Long Beach, MS. She joins a list of previous boats including a Coronado C15, a Cal 21, and 2 (yes, 2 at the same time) 1979 Chrysler C26's. One of the C26's we still have , but will be laid up for the foreseeable future with some nasty toe rail damage and deck leak issues. Plus the last few birthdays have convinced me that sailing a slightly smaller trailerable boat is a smart thing...

Must say I am impressed with the quality of build on the ComPac compared to other boats I've owned or seen, and am glad to see there's a great community of owners here..I can see this being a boat I'll want to own and sail a long long time

We have a blog with a few pics and details at

Hey welcome, I think there is another 23 and a 25 down there maybe some others, time to think about a GCR (Gulf Coast Rendezvous) maybe smuggler's cove on Cat Island or the Fort at Ship Island.

Another great option is the B.E.E.R cruise in Pensacola Bay.  I've done it twice, great cruise organized by some folks in your neck of the woods, but can't go this year, have a conflict.

Welcome!

I agree with the build of the Compac 23.  I had a Hunter 22 and a Catalina 30 previously.

Enjoy the new boat.  This is a good source of information when you do projects as here have already been posts about most projects.  There are also some posts about measurements of places etc.
