Title: Mast base
Post by: wroundey on February 10, 2015, 07:49:55 AM
There is a Compac 23 mast base on Ebay (linked from the classifieds here). The base on my 16 is a bit bent up and I was wondering if the 23 base is the same size as the 16 base?

wish i could tell you will. my guess is that the 23 mast has a larger diameter and would be too big. hey we missed you sunday. next time we get together ill give you a yell

Wish I could have made it over also, the bike ride sounded like fun. I was in KC with a group of HS students looking at colleges (part of my job as a HS Counselor).

Why not just straighten it out? Mine got really distorted due to a rather moronic helper that I used to lower the mast. I removed it and after about half hour of strong arming it in the vice, it came out pretty nice. I don't think a new one is all that expensive.

I agree with Bob23.  I was dismasted by a moronic skipper while single handling.  The plate was torn off of the coach roof but it straightened right up with a vice and medium hammer.
