Title: Spinnaker pole lubricant

I have an aluminum spinnaker pole that has not had much use and has been sitting awhile. It does twist and adjust, but you have to work with it. Is there a lubricant of any kind I could put on it to help it? Would silicone spray work?

DrySlide or some thing like that from Harken.
Same stuff for less money from AutoZone, O'Reiley's, or...
