of my 63rd birthday, I would like to say thanks for all the entertainment, sailing lore and knowledge imparted on this site.
All y'all are the best.
Sailing, for me, sets me free from the pressures of daily life. The flap of a poorly trimmed jib, the heel when i forget (not really) to reef my main, and pressure on the tiller as I try to keep her flat, tells me I'm still alive and kicking.
I do love gabbing with y'all. Buddy the sea dog says "woof"
Thanks for the all the memories past present and future.

Because I'm obviously the first up, allow me to wish you a happy 63rd! I'm not trailing far behind- I'll be 62 next March. If one has to find oneself in front of a computer, this is by far the best place to be. Have a great birthday- getting out for a sail?

Happy Birthday Tim,
Thanks for all the advice and for making this newbie feel like part of the fleet.
Chris
Happy Birthday Tim. As a ComPac newbie, I have appreciated your posts and laughed a bit too. I will hopefully continue to blaze the trail ahead of you since I am 68 now. Where does the time go: but as they say, time spent messing around with boats does not count..... Perfect. Al
Happy upcoming birthday Tim! I was going to say "and to the rest of you kids", but Al just trumped me. I'm closing in on 68 but he is already there.:)
The best thing about being "old" and retired is that I can look at the ten day weather forecast with wind predictions and target future sailing dates without having to worry about the work schedule.
happy birthday! Enjoy it! Go sailing for it....if not on your birthday some day in the future.
Right behind you Tim; mine is the 29th. Happy Birthday! Doubtful I sail on my birthday, so I'm going to try to go this Saturday.
Bruce
happy birthday tim-----i know where of you speak------im 62------love the heel----makes the blood flow
Well, I turned 73 last month, and just bought an Eclipse to keep my SunCat company. Sailing is a such great sport. Happy birthday and many happy returns (to both of us!).

happy birthday tim,
here's to another year of sailing, acting silly, and spinning yarns!

Happy Birthday Tim!
Sailing keeps a person young! My wife hasn't aged since we got the boat! She is still 30, and we have had the boat for almost 4 years now!
Also, I cant hardly keep track of how old I am! Sailing helps!

Sixty-Three years young! Happy Birthday fellow moderator and friend! Get the hangover remedies ready, you might need it tomorrow, ya rum guzzling scalawag!
Oops, I mean ya rum guzzling Commodore!
Here's what the Admiral got me for my birthday one for me and one for her for shade on the 19.
It clamps onto a rail and is 38X38", swivels this way and that, and is supposed to be good in wind to 15MPH or so.

Wow, that looks good! It will be interesting to see how you like it, although how could you not? I might could use a thing like that; no bimini on my CP 23...yet.
Happy Birthday Tim.
Did that umbrella come with any reefing lines?
Thanks for help keeping this blog going.
regards charlie
I haven't put it on yet, but i did open it and it is shaped like a kite, so its aerodynamic. I may convert to mid-boom main sheeting to be able to use it while sailing.
I'm still trying to get used to end boom sheeting again myself. I have figured out what people were talking about with the floppy cleat system. I need to get one of those pieces of metal to stick in there to fix it.
Will you put a traveler in? I had a nice traveler system across the front of the ... whatsit seat that connects the side seats in front of the companionway; this was on my Sipper, but I think I'd do that if I changed my sheeting location.
Tim,
Happy Birthday, and many more . . .
Do you ever stop at the Smoke House restaurant? My sweetheart and I with friends from near Mariners Landing occasionally stop there for a dinner. Great shrimp and good BBQ. It still seems like a long haul from Lynchburg, but maybe we can get together sometime with your sweetheart. I'll buy you a brew and a late birthday cake . . .

I didn't know you could sheet umbrellas from mid boom. Is that thing Compac approved? Of course, it is...what was I thinking?
Great gift.
