I am in the process of replacing the marine head and hoses on my CP27. I completely removed everything and cleaned the holding tank. Everything is going well but one thing I forgot to do was check the model number of the Jabsco manual toilet before I threw it away. It looks like there are two models compact and standard. I was wondering if any of you have the Jabsco manual toilet and if so which one do you have. Also if you recommend any other toilet I would like to hear about that as well.
Thanks Chris
Hey Chris:
Our '86 has JABSCO Model 29120-3000.
I am considering putting a composting head on ours. It is a ways down the work list there is a thread on composting toilets someplace and they looked pretty attractive.
I do not envy you cleaning the holding tank. Our PO had a new one so all that I had to do was remove the old one and stick the new one on.
Hope this helps.

Thanks Charlie that's just the information that I needed. Actually cleaning the holding tank was not so bad I just loaded it up with bleach and Tide and let it sit for a couple of hours before flushing. Not to bad since it was out of the boat. Removing the toilet, hoses and holding tank was another story. I hope never to do that again.

My next head overhaul I plan to install a Lavac: http://www.sailnet.com/forums/gear-maintenance-articles/20118-foolproof-head.html
Costs twice as much, but it looks like it is worth the price to me. Specially if you don't have a manual bilge pump in the cabin yet.
Hey Chris here is a previous thread on the subject:

When I replaced the head in my Catalina 30 I knew that there was one head that I would use. A Raritan PHii. It is the best manual head you can buy. Peggy Hall, the head mistress, always talked highly about them.
I replaced the head and owned the boat for 6 more years. It was 6 years with no head issues at all. They are a superior product and worth the money!
