Title: Any Pictures of Genoa setup?
Post by: finchm on July 04, 2006, 01:59:26 PM
I would like to set up my boat to fly a Genoa.  What is the best way to go about this?  Does anyone have pictures of a 16 setup to do this?

I am currently running the sheets through the rear cleats and holding them in my hand.  I would like something more civilized.

This is the setup I have. One on each side just in front of the cleat as in the pic. I didn't put these on, they were there from the PO. Looks like you just have to crawl head first down the berth and scrape out some foam in the location of the cam.

I installed ggenoa tracks and sliding fairleads last year. I purchased the hardware from com-pac it  was about 150.00 dollors. The tracks are on the seat back top, about 4 feet long. Sorry no pictures.

What was  involved in installing the kit?  Was it just drilling holes for screws?  Is any glue involved?

I just screwed it down in a bed of 5200.  I've had no problems with the set-up.

I purchased the tracks, end caps, and cleats from Com-Pac.  The tracks are a whopping 15" long!  They must have changed the kits at some point, because these are definately not 4 feet long.

I mounted them up but I haven't had a chance to sail with them.
