Title: Forida Canal Trip
Post by: Gerry on September 30, 2014, 09:39:47 AM
In October I am delivering a boat from St. Augustine to Cape Coral.  Where can I find information on the St. Lucie Canal, Lake Okeechobee, and the Caloosahatchee River canal system?

Gerry,

My Florida West Coast and the Keys Chart Book has detailed info on that route which I've used several times in both sailboat and trawler. The Florida East Coast Chart Book may also cover the route. Look for old Chart books in Nautical Surplus Stores.

The other method is to go here http://ocsdata.ncd.noaa.gov/BookletChart/GulfCoastBookletCharts.htm and print out your own copy of Chart 11428.

Bon Voyage, and sail safely.

Gerry - how'd it go?  As of this date (7 Dec 14) we are aboard our CP27 in Saint Augustine, headed for Stuart and planning to cross to Ft. Myers via the Okeechobee.  Any recent intel would be appreciated.  Thanks.

Bill

Sorry, trip was canceled when owner had the boat surveyed and it failed.
