Title: ANNAPOLIS SAILBOAT SHOW
Post by: Bob23 on September 06, 2014, 06:03:44 AM
Are any of you Compao-nauts planning to converge at Annapolis this year? The show is Thursday 10/09 through Monday 10/13. I usually attend on Saturday.

Maybe catch you there!

I am debating this.  I may or may not go depending on a few things.  I did get a curve ball because my brother in law is getting married on the 12th.

We shall see!

The exhibitors list seems to have a lot more small sailboats than the Newport show.  May go to Annapolis instead.

I don't see Compac on here for displaying yachts.  I have seen them in the past and it would be nice for them to be there.

My brother in law (more like my little brother than brother in law) is getting married on October 12.  That rules out that Sunday so I will have to see if I can make it on a Friday or a Saturday depending on my work schedule.

In some ways it is nice to see the boats out there, in other ways it makes you feel a bit out classed.  The new boats are so nice but they are out of my price range, big time.  I doubt they will ever be close to what I can spend.  I think that a used boat is a better value in the long haul anyway.  Still, it makes you daydream.

Hutchins is listed under exhibitors.
I tend to stay away from the mega yachts...not really intersted. You'll find me hanging out with the small boat guys...or nursing a Painkiller! Or both!

If I go and if they have one, consider it done. Last year was a stellar year for me: my wife even wanted to go. It rained the whole time but we were ready with WallyWorld rain gear. We met our friends PeterG and Becky aka Pedro and Ann, walked the docks, had a great lunch including a way too strong Painkiller and enjoyed a wet afternoon. Hope this year is at least as great.
As an added bonus, the Traditional Small Craft Festival at St. Michaels, MD, this year does not confict with the sailboat show. In past years, I had to choose...not so this year. The TSC show is on 10/03 through 10/15. Yahoo!!!!
