Title: Newport Boat Show
Post by: archimedes on September 05, 2014, 05:05:52 PM
Anyone going or ever been?

I've been to a couple of boat shows in other places,  and they have been somewhat of a disappointment.  Almost entirely motor boats and the few sailboats were enormous.  I was wonder if the Newport show was more of the same?

Would like to see a show with some "attainable" sailboats.  From the exhibitors list I don't see any small sailboat names that are familiar.

Would appreciate feedback if anyone has been to one of these.

Thanks

Hi:
Eastern Yacht's is now a ComPac dealer as well as a Catalina dealer. He may have a ComPac or two on display. I'd call them. I've seen Seaward's there as well. I usually volunteer a day or two there because I am a member of O.S.C.A (Ocean State Catalina Association) and we setup a table at the Catalina section for a membership drive. My first boat was a Catalina 25.

Annapolis Boat show has some smaller boat.

There is also a spring show in Annapolis that features used boats.

If anyone goes and there is a Horizon Day Cat please take some pics and post them here. Thanks!
