Title: CP27
Post by: nbsupply on July 19, 2014, 11:14:15 AM
Want to move my CP27 from Washington North Carolina to Tarpon Springs FL. any experiance and reccomendations? Hans
Could not find anybody wanting to ship  my CP27 for less than $2550. Now I have listed it with Carolina Wind in Washington NC.The boat is in great shape but it is too far (12hrs) for me to get there from Ohio. Hans

Call Steve Ratliff at 256 655 8191. He brought my 27 from New Bern to Tarpon Springs in March of this year for $941.00. He has a professional sail boat trailer and did a great job. Took him 1 day to deliver. I got him through U-Ship, but he's no longer with them. Are you keeping the boat around here?  André

Just hitch it up to the family truckster and start driving.  Hope that when your fan belt breaks at midnight on Saturday, you can just coast on into the AutoZone parking lot and they'll have one when they open on Sunday morning.

FYI, this is a 14,000 lb gross flatbed farm trailer, and the cradle may be the original factory shipping cradle, it came with the boat.  The cradle is set up so the boat can be launched and retrieved from the cradle (which is how it was taken from the water when I bought it).  No way I'm putting my trailer in the water, and it probably sets too high to launch anyway.   The truck is a 1999  Chevy 3500 with a 6.5 TurboDiesel and 230,000 miles.  Bought the boat near Cleveland OH, towed to Indianapolis IN, then to St Pete FL, and now back to IN.  About 2600 miles so far.  I get about 9mpg towing the boat.

Andre - that's a coincidence; Steve Ratliff moved my 27 too. Did a good job, but be forewarned that he requires payment in cash on the spot upon delivery. If you don't have that much cash on hand, he can get very testy. Don't ask me how I know.

I know, he was 2 days late picking up my boat because he had to put a power boat into storage in Cleveland because the owner didn't have cash on the spot. In fact when he delivered my boat he wouldn't start to unload until my neighbor showed up with the cash. He was then nice as rain! I guess it's a tough business.  André
