i would like to know everyones planned arrival date at carlyle. just like last year we will be putting our boat in on thursday. we will be available to help rig, launch and park vehicles and trailers. i do need a list of boat names though. i already have----ISLAND TIME, PLAN B, TOGETHER TIME, KNOT FAST, CHERISH, GERALDINE, AUDREY J, and MISS ADVENTURES. i think there are 4 more.
I will not be there until Saturday morning. What time does the race start? I think last year I got to the parking lot about 8 AM or so. Probably do the same this year.
will, im thinking that it was 9:30 or 10. took a while to get everyone going after friday night dock party. got a name for the boat?
No name yet
kick,
our plan is to arrive early thurs morn.
cc
we will probably be there thursday morning as well and put the boat in then
Kick, I arrived back in April, like the 23rd, and have been waiting ever since.
actually in all honesty, we plan to be around Thursday after 3pm, I have to work. But I am off Friday, Saturday. ;)
My wife's schedule is a whole other beast.... we are working on that now since she might be getting a new position. Her Birthday is that Friday the 1st, so if we go out to eat, I wonder if the place can sing to her........ embarrass her :)
Mac
he wants ME to sing. hey you asked for it buddy
Peapod is planning on arriving about 4 or 5 pm on Thursday.
My friends, Jim & Kathy are planning on arriving about that time as well. They are leaving Saturday afternoon / evening ( before dinner) and I will be leaving Sunday morning.
maybe we can get the boats in the water and go to the keys for dinner
Hope to be there by noon Friday, if the creek don't rise and the tires don't go flat. Are there are some restaurants close by, not much room to cook on a Sun Cat. Just room for a cooler with beer, cheese and sausage.
yes there are a number in town (short drive). mac can give you the info you need. does your boat have a name?
hey clr sailors here is my cell number. call when you get in and we can help rig and launch and park your vehicle and trailer 317) 2920258 any questions either call me there or at my home number 618) 588 3889 steve bender
Howdy everyone! B and I plan on arriving late Tuesday or midday Wednesday. We are thinking about staying through August 5th.
It will be good to see old friends, meet new friends, laugh, swim and maybe even sail a little. We can taste the "Kalihari Nooners" already. Got the lawn chairs packed aboard for those evening dock sessions.
Did anyone get t-shirts made this year?
Mike and Brenda
I plan to arrive Thursday afternoon and depart Sunday. Boat name is "Second Wind".
Thank-you,
Christopher
The name of my Sun Cat is CHERISH. Don't always have my cell on but the number is 319-296-5565.
ROGER
mike, i guess i dropped the ball on the t shirts. i was thinking something simple, like mike carpenters CLR logo with the hutchins logo on the front pocket. guess its too late to get that done this year though. mac give roger a resteraunt rundown if you would. (hes the resident food critic). christopher, i dont think we talked before. What kind of boat do you have?
chris, welcome. will you be solo or with crew (dinner concerns)? give me a call when you get in. i think it was a big help last year having someone to move the vehicles after the boats were launched. i will be available for that duty.
Everyone, make sure you have reserved a slip and tell them you are with the ComPac Group. The Office Manager of the marina will do her best to get us close together. We cant make any promises as slips are first come first serve.
Breakfast
There is McDonalds and Hardees, but as far as the restaurants, The Home Plate is good for breakfast. VERY GOOD. and CHEAP. and MADE FROM SCRATCH. I know the guy personally and he is serious about having good food. Seating is limited however, he has a small place.
Covered in CHocolate does breakfast too, also a small place.
LUNCH:
The place by the marina is not open yet, and no clue when it will..... Lunch is basically MCDonalds, or Hardees. There is The Home Plate, and Covered in Chocolate. I dont think BRETZ does Lunches.
Dinner:
Bretz is in town, and LuBar Bistro.
Thats all I have for that at the moment.
Lastly, Shirts, I am sorry but I have been so busy for the last few months that I didnt even think of shirts, or try to get something together. If someone has a local shirt place they like and wanted to do something, get with me, maybe we could get something together and propose it soon enough...... we are certainly short on time.
I have been heavily involved with work, and Charity lately, so much so, that I have to take a break so that I can finish my projects at home. I have literally been sailing only 4 times since we put the boat in at the end of April. I have cleaned the boat in anticipation more times that I care to think of.
I look forward to CLR, it really is a fantastic time, and a ton of fun.
I want everyone to remember that I work as the Shop Foreman/Lead man at the marina this is held at. If you have any issues I want to hear about them, that way I can either take care of them personally or make note to discuss at the staff meetings. We did have a issue last year, and I took it very seriously. Also the customers there cant wait to see us all, and frankly, I cant wait to have the harbor full of beautiful boats again, because honestly, we really make the scene!
Thanks, I will be watching these closely over the next few weeks to be as responsive as quickly as I can.
Mac
as far as i know the issue was a drunk woman. i have talked with hundreds of them and she was pretty minor league. and we should have our own i expect. yep jason you are the man. hope you get the new main done. i got mine today and will probably give it a try on sunday with my brother and monday with sarah. for all the new com-pac sailors. mac and salty have all the info. im just there for good looks
My C-19 is named "Kare" (Swedish for Breeze)
Wait: Kick- Am I to understand you've talked to hundreds of drunken women? What kind of gathering is this anyway?
Bob23
I think he means he went to college.
Wes
Will stop by thursday after work to meet everyone but work means I will put the boat in saturday am. Saw an Oday 25 heading south from springfield yesterday morning...
matt, the oday was mike and brenda greenes boat. we will see you thursday and look forward to sailing with you saturday. you are coming to the dinner saturday evening right? kind of hard to get a head count.

kind of hard to get a head count.
not really.
i have to have an accurate head count of the inmates in my charge every day.
some have their heads just above their shoulders, most you need to look below the waist at the back side and even then, they're concealed within.
it's a matter of knowing where to look.
