Title: fore/aft balance
Post by: Harrier on May 31, 2014, 12:02:58 PM
Curious of others observations.  You know the small gutter drain in the toe rail just about at the end of the combing?  I assume that was intended to be at the low spot on the deck,  but for me water collects about two feet aft.  I also notice my bottom paint and racing stripe don't run parallel to the water.  I have nothing excessively heavy on board, and am wondering if my ballast is not quite right or if this is others experience as well?

My water line strpe seems to line up. Perhaps when they painted the bottom they drifted off the waterline? Water ponds aft of my scupper also.

Is your water tank full?

I keep my water tank ~3/4 full.  Sounds like Awfieth has a similar issue with were the water pools on deck.  Perhaps this was a design miscalculation that got built into the mold and never changed?  Although, Bob, based on your response I'm assuming you don't have the same issue?
Not a big problem - more of a curious observation.

The sheer line on all Com-Pacs is beautiful.
A low point is typical just aft of the leading edge of the combing.

As far as the boot strip is concerned ... move weight forward?
I doubt the factory 'misplaced the ballast'. Who knows?

Repaint the boot?

skip.
