I have a few shrouds where a small bend is evident , also I only have been sailing here in our small inland lake which is about 5 miles long, mile wide at most,
in Micihgan inland of and great lake by 50 miles - so I am trying to evaluate to replace or stay and check periodically .... what you ya think ?
If the wire has a kink or is flattened or is missing one of the 19 individual strands, through it out.
A small bend that straightens when pulled ... no big deal.

I was thinking the cable was bent, not the turnbuckle and the cable ends on this CP-23. Normal rigging, no folding mast business.
These ends ought to be replaced. It maybe be possible to cut the cable at the 'swedged' ends on the turnbuckles and have new ends added to the cables ... depends if extra length can be wiggled out of new [and longer] turnbuckles.
Some careful cyphering will need to be considered.
So why had the turnbuckles bent? What ever that way, don't do that. I'm guessing
1~Rigging pulled too tight? Looser is better.
2~One chainplate and two turnbuckles on one pin through the chainplate? Every side shroud has a different angle and requires it's own pin.
3~Like anything in rigging, "Fit must not be substituted for force".
