Title: Chesapeake Bay
Post by: tmorgan on May 15, 2014, 07:38:04 PM
Back from a great week of cruising and eating seafood on the Chesapeake Bay.  Patapsco River, Magothy River, Annapolis, Knapp's Narrows, Kent Narrows, and Rock Hall.  Some great sailing days, one motoring day and one small craft warning day.

Those are some great destinations.  What a great trip!

Sometime you should try to do Solomons Island, Smith Island, Tangier Island, and Onancock.  Those are cool places too.

There is something really special about sailing into Annapolis.  To see that many sailboats in one place is amazing.  That had to be one of the greatest thrills for me when cruising.

Sailed all over the Chesapeake Bay for 20 years with most of it in the upper Chesapeake. Had 4 different sailboats ranging from 21' to 35'. Enjoyed all the different towns and anchorages to the max. It is definitely true that the Chesapeake Bay is one of the BEST cruising areas in all of North America.

I now sail in the warm turquoise water of SW Florida and the Gulf Islands and love it!
