Title: Boat cover for 1980 Compac 16
Post by: kscharer on April 27, 2014, 10:25:14 PM
Does anyone know where I can get a durable boat cover for my Compac 16? I have it parked at a lake but there are lots of pine trees and hardwoods around and it get filled with pollen in the spring, pine straw all year round and leaves in the fall. It is also extremely sunny so vinyl gets destroyed in a single summer. Anyone have suggestions for me? Thanks.

When I was looking for something similar, this looked like a good option: http://www.sailorstailor.com/proddetail.asp?prod=C01601T%2DM (http://www.sailorstailor.com/proddetail.asp?prod=C01601T%2DM)

I never got a cover, but did have them send the packet with sample fabrics.  For the price, you would get many years of annual replacement tarps.

I went with a waterproof canvas tarp from Defender.com. I am pleased with the result. Good protection from pine pollen and rain. Does not introduce micro plastic trash to the environment and little critter's stomachs like a decaying poly tarp. For my CP-16 I went with the 10'x20' tarp (actual size 9'6"x19'5"). It covers down to the waterline.
