Received this from a friend, have not seen it before and thought to share it. I did not come with an author.
Lament of a sailor's Mate
It seems my dear that you never fail'
To drive this boat with too much sail.
I trust in you and you in me,
But, please put up the number three.
I think this marriage goes asunder,
Every time the rail goes under.
So darling, please just spare me pain
And let me ease the bloody main.
Or, next time you suggest some cruisin' –
With fun and games, romance and boozin',
I won't reply "my dear I'd love it!"
I'll simply say that you can shove it!!
regards charlie
Thanks! Can I ever relate. I've learned that to get my Admiral to go for a sail requires me to check conditions carefully, have a reef in before I leave the dock, and make sure the bimini is on the boat ready to deploy. That and a fully operational head.
