During a class last week I took some video of a friends ComPac 16 under sail and put it on my website. He has a full batten main and foil rudder, it's the fastest ComPac 16 I've ever seen and we had good wind that day.
Here's a link to the video, which I had incorrect before,

Great video, thanks for posting it. I am surprised the boat sailed so flat at that speed since the wind must have been kicking pretty good.
I was impressed it was sailing so flat too, he was by himself that day. Maybe the new sails had something to do with it.

The video is great! Since I've yet to sail my Compac it was neat to see one in action. At the very end of the video you can see her heel over pretty good, a gust must have hit her.
Can't wait to get out and sail now! :D
Can you ask your friend where he got his sails? Thanks.
From David Culp, who bought the full batten mainsail
The sails came from National Sails in Florida

I worked with Dirk, he was very helpful and always responded quickly. On
top of that, they had the best prices too!

David! Imagine finding you here!
It's me, Dusty! The guy going to your next sailing class...
Listen, if I start running around shouting, "Skipper! Professor! Skipper!" just take your hat off and hit me with it. That, and let's see if we can talk MaryAnn into a bikini.
Hi Dusty,
Guess even cyberspace is a small world, lol.
See you Wednesday morning!
Culp has a buyer for his ComPac 16, heard you put an offer in on one at the Sailboat Shop in Austin.
David
Yeah, I sure did. Talked them down to 2500 on the '83.
Of the two CP16s they had, the 83 was the dirtiest, and the inside of it has been used for a dumpster - but - it doesn't have one single crazed spot. I thought that was probably a good sign.
Yup! See you Wednesday!
